Professional Experience

Staff Development Administrator (Prek-12th) • NWABSD

2019-2021

Provided support and professional development for eleven schools in the Northwest Arctic Borough School District in Safe and Civil Schools Protocols, RTI/MTSS systems, and the implementation of School Improvement Plans for the State of Alaska STEPP. Created professional development around student data analysis to enhance teacher instructional decision-making strategies and increase student engagement and rigor in Pre-k thru 12th grade classrooms. Supported principals with data analysis of state assessments and assisted with implementation of a response to intervention protocols and procedures.

Principal (Prek-12th) • NWABSD • Ambler/Selawik 2013-2019

Implemented a transformation model of success for Davis-Ramoth Memorial School. Supported extensive use of Safe and Civil School research-based methods. Created an extensive MTSS/RTI model for K-7th grade using multiple resources of personnel and materials. Established a positive and cultural learning environment for students PreK-12th using protocols, processes, and procedures. Extensive background working with at risk populations, and Indigenous people. Certified Danielson Evaluator.

Instructional Coach (k-6) • Highline School District• 2007-2011

Established professional learning communities across all grade levels. Created, planned, and implemented professional development sessions/classes for teachers across Highline School District. Conducted Math Studios to enhance teacher instructional skills. Analyzed student data and trained personnel to help use data to drive instruction in their classrooms. 

General Education Teacher (Intermediate 3rd–sixth• NWABSD/Highline/Shoreline/Lake WA School District) • 1993-2012

Data driven lesson planning. Maintained both small group and direct instructional opportunities for all students. Created and maintained positive communication pathways with parents about their child. Increased level of student performance on NWEA MAP as well as state testing. Worked within a collaborative team and helped to foster grade level content professional learning environments. Member of school leadership teams which helped to formulate school improvement plans.
